LIFE LESSON: HONESTY PAYS (PART 2)
YESTERDAY:
Mr Atobatele, I realized that you are yet to sign those files I gave you. I heard you are a pastor and a man that doesn’t take nonsense, but that’s none of my business. If you know you are going to display this “NA ME HOLY PASS” attitude of yours, I would be left with no option than to sack you and I would also ensure that I personally destroy your career. I was informed that some of your church members are workers of this company. How would you feel if a notice is posted on the notice boards that their pastor is a thief and a liar? This attitude of yours is also going to put their jobs at risk. I have computed the names of each and every one of them. I am fully ready for you Mr Man.
If you think you can go far with this attitude of yours, I would show you that you have met your match, Mr Jekayesinmi Shouted. A majority of the Board of Directors complain about you. Its either you are blocking them from making extra profit or you are busy teaching them what to do and what not to do. Anyway, I don’t blame you; I blame them for not dealing with you amicably. If you cannot do what we are doing here, which simple means that you are not ready to join, why not leave or is this company written in your father’s name.
Later that afternoon, Mr Lawal walked quietly into the office of Mr Atobatele. For the past few days Sir, you have been behaving strange. Could your actions be as a result of the meeting you had with the finance director, he asked with great curiosity. Something like that he replied as he raised his head up to guess how much Mr Lawal knows about the whole situation on ground.
From my experience with the Finance director, I would advise that you do everything you are asked to do because he is a man that does not take any nonsense. May God give you the grace to do what you are supposed to do. I would take my leave now, but before then I would advise that you cheer up and give what you are asked to do a try. You would not regret your actions at the end of the day.

THE NEXT DAY
7 AM: Honey, I have made up my mind, I would be resigning from the office today. I have printed out my resignature letter and I have signed it. I have prayed about the whole situation and I believe that this is the best thing to do. I should be before noon so I can brush up my CV and probably drop it in some companies before closing hour. Before you go to work, help me register at JOBBERMAN so we can get firsthand information on new jobs.
Sitting at the other side of the bed, Eberechi was sobbing gently. God why are Nigerian’s so cruel and wicked. Many people have actually forgotten that there is God ooo. Looking at her after noticing that her head was down all this while, and she seemed not to be listening to all he was saying, he decided to move closer to her and assure her that all that is happening is for a purpose.
But sweetheart, you know we run an open policy relationship in this house. We should have discussed this issue before you print out the resignation letter. We agreed we were going to talk about it when you came back from work yester night. You said you were tired and needed to rest. I was expecting you to bring up the issue so that we can trash out the issue before you take any major decision.
I am not happy with the fact that you want to resign. The man is the person that is supposed to resign, not you. He is the one that is guilty, you are innocent. You have always told me not to give up easily, why do you want to give up now. How are we going to pay the children’s school fees, with my peanut salary? Have you taught of all this.
I am sorry Eberechi. I knew that you would not be happy with my decision to resign, that was why I gave that excuse yesterday so that we can have the peace we are used to having in this house. Don’t worry about the children’s school fees, I am confident that by God’s grace, I would get a new job soon.
Baby, I know you are scared, I am also scared too, but this is the right thing to do and we both know it. Remember that I got this job miraculously, and God has blessed us and enlarged our coast through this company. It would be a crime to God and the country if I decide to do anything that would put the finance of the company in jeopardy.
I know that everything that happens to man is for a reason. The reason might not be clear now, but I know that sooner or later everything would be alright. Okay dear, but promise me that you would take things easy at the office today. I promise dear. Feeling relieved, Eberechi stood up and hugged her husband. In return he gave her a kiss on the forehead, signifying that all that is well would end well (don’t try this on your boyfriend ooo).
9 AM: Good Morning Mr Jekayesinmi. Like I said yesterday, this is my resignation letter. I would be moving out of the office before noon. I need to clear the files on my table, and dispatch them to the necessary offices.
Are you sure you have given this a serious consideration, Mr Jekayesinmi asked like he was concerned. Are you sure you want to resign just because you cannot sign those files? Yes sir, I am very sure Mr Atobatele confirmed. If that’s the case, I must admit that you are very stupid and you are unfit to work here. Thank you Sir, Mr Atobatele replied as he walked out of the office silently, remembering the promise he made his wife.
10:30 AM: Mr Kunle, Mr Clement and Mr Emeka, I resigned from this company today for reasons best known to me which I would share with you very soon. Ensure that you do not compromise your stand in the lord in everything you do here. Also remember to be your brother’s keeper. You are not here to compete with each other; you are here to complement each other.
Let the fear of God continually be in your heart. Help me pack these things to the car, I need to thank some of the staffs here for their love and kindness towards me when I was here. Before I forget, Mr Emeka, make sure the daily morning devotion that we hold every morning does not stop. I am putting you in charge, don’t disappoint me.

TELL YOURSELF THE TRUTH (2)
George Westinghouse was asked to leave college because he was labelled ‘dull, slow and impractical’ by his teachers.
Before George Westinghouse died he patented over 400 inventions and amassed an industrial empire that few have equalled
How did he achieve this? He refused to believe the lies of his teachers, but instead he listened to the truth he told himself.
Whose report do you believe?

KEEP DOING IT
The best way to be good at what you do is to KEEP DOING IT. Repetition is the father of perfection.
Get books that can enlighten you more on the subject matter, move with people with the same interest and ensure that the passion never burns down.
The world respects a man that is good at what he is doing. Nobody appreciates an unpolished talent.

BE DIFFERENT
It has been confirmed that the most difficult part of climbing through the ladder of success is getting through the crowd at the bottom.
The bottom is full of struggling people. People that are struggling to climb the ladder of success, but for a man to get through the ladder, he needs to be;
1. Different.
2. Do something different.
3. Move with people that are different
4. Know God.

TELL YOURSELF THE TRUTH
The worse thing that can happen to a man is to lie to himself, likewise the best thing that can happen to a man is to tell himself the truth.
If you would ask me, I would prefer that you tell yourself the truth. Now what’s the truth?
The truth is you are awesome, wonderfully and marvelously made. You are the best thing that happened to mankind. Appreciate yourself.

PAY YOURSELF 1ST
The best and easiest way to become wealthy is to pay yourself. By paying yourself, I simply mean saving money from every income that you make.
When you get your salary, business profit, etc. you pay your tithe, settle your bills, get new stuffs for yourself, do you always put it in mind to save money?
Note: Its not just about saving, but ensuring that the savings grow.
Good Morning.

APPRECIATE THE EFFORTS OF OTHERS
Most people DON’T mind working hard, but they do mind if their best effort is taken for granted. It makes them feel used, discouraged, exploited and unappreciated.
When that happens, they fight back by withholding effort or engaging in counter productive activities.
When people are under you, learn to love and appreciate them. That way, they would go all the way for you.

DIFFICULTY IS NOT AN EXCUSE
If Christopher Columbus had turned back, no one would have blamed him. But no one would have remembered him either.
Today he is credited as the person that discovered America because he never gave difficulty as an excuse.
Remember that Difficulty is an excuse that history never accepts. Before you complain, give it a shot.
God bless your heart.

BE RESOURCEFUL!!!
Its not about the resources that you have, but the resourcefulness that you display with the resources at your disposal. Most success story in life is an internal game.
Its usually about how you think, feel and behave than the tool and resource you have at hand. If you have the resources and you DON’T have the skill to utilize the resources, it would become a waste.
Develop yourself this week.
Good Morning.
