NIGERIA @ 53 (CHALLENGING NIGERIANS TO TAKE UP HER RESPONSIBILITY)
I am not here today to blame the government for taking this country backwards (this might disappoint you), I am not here today to blame our leaders. You might be thinking why? This is simply because; THE LEADERS OF TODAY WERE THE FOLLOWERS OF YESTERDAY. He that has committed little or no sin, or is free from all sort of corruption is the only one that has the right to raise a hand and blame the leaders of this great nation. Yes they have failed us, yes they have done this, and yes they have done that but the truth is they would never change until we all decide TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS COUNTRY.
I have seen different images, read different write ups, heard different opinions from Nigerians from different ethnic groups, from different places. I know we are all disappointed, but if we all had swept the front of our houses, at least half of this country would have been better. It’s not time for us to use words like Nigeria can never get better, Nigeria would only get worse, and I wish Nigeria was not my country. It’s so funny that the best time people use big words is when they want to address the problems facing our country. If listing out the problems of Nigeria could solve the problem, if complaining about the problems facing Nigeria could solve the problems, if apportioning blames and shifting responsibility on some set of people we voted in could change the situation of this country, Nigeria would have been far better than it is today. Now the big question is, you know all the problems, yes you do, how many problems have you founded solutions to, even if you cannot achieve solving it alone?
‘’YOU ARE NOT JUST A NIGERIAN, YOU ARE UNIQUE. YOU ARE NOT JUST A NIGERIAN; YOU ARE A SPECIAL BEING FROM ABOVE. YOU ARE NOT JUST A NIGERIAN; YOU ARE A LEADER WITH A CHAMPION MENTALITY. YOU ARE NOT JUST A NIGERIAN, YOU ARE A PROBLEM SOLVER. YOU ARE NOT JUST A NIGERIAN, YOU ARE A WORLD CHANGER. YOU ARE NOT JUST A NIGERIAN; YOU ARE AN IDENTITY THE WORLD WOULD RECON WITH. YOU ARE NOT JUST A NIGERIAN; YOU ARE A REASON TO SMILE BECAUSE WE HAVE YOU. YOU ARE NOT JUST A NIGERIAN; YOU ARE THE ONE YOUR GENERATION HAS BEEN WAITING FOR’’.
There is something inside of you that is waiting to be unleashed. Why don’t you stop wasting your time pronouncing negatives and start working on yourselves to find out the reason why God sent you to Nigeria, and the problem that you are expected to solve that would take Nigeria to the next level. The God that made you a Nigerian did not make any mistake because he does not make mistakes. The God that made you a Nigerian made you one of us because you possess something great in you that would take this great country to the next level.
I am tired of complaining, I am sure you are too. Now, what problems are we going to be solving to make sure that our country moves forward? What problems are you going to be solving to ensure that there is peace and unity in this country; in what ways are you going to be involved to ensure that you are serving your fathers land. If you have no problem to solve then you have no reason to complain. We can take this country to the next level, we can make this country better if we say no to complains, and we say yes to finding considerable solutions. I am positive and optimistic that Nigeria would get better.
When they say Nigeria would never get better, you don’t have to join them. Just put a smile on your face, ask them to sit back and relax and tell them that Nigeria would soon get better and you are one of the agents of positive change that God is going to use to change the country. Tell them not to be angry with the delay, but very soon you would find your own part of the problem that you would solve that would move the country forward.
When they say that Nigeria is getting worse, make them understand that there is nothing like worse in your dictionary. Make them understand that you have a positive mentality, and rather than seeing Nigeria as being worse, you see Nigeria passing through developmental stages which is why everything seems like it’s not working out. Nigeria is a country richly blessed with so many natural and mineral resources, great and special talents like I and you, so if the country is going to get worse, it’s as a result of I and you not using the talent God has given to us to harness and utilize all the natural and mineral resources we have in the country to take it to the next level.
I have pledged to Nigeria my country, to be faithful, loyal and honest, to serve Nigeria with all my unity, to defend her unity and uphold her honor and glory, so help me God. I have arisen as a great compatriot of Nigeria, I have obeyed my countries call and I am ready to serve my father’s land with love and strength and faith. The hard work of those that truly fought for the independence of this country would not be in vain because you and I would be fighting every menace that has hampered the progress of this country.
GOD BLESS ME, GOD BLESS YOU, GOD BLESS NIGERIANS AND GOD BLESS NIGERIA. I AM PROUD TO BE A PART OF THIS COUNTRY AND I AM PROUD TO BE A PART OF THIS DEVELOPMENTAL STAGE.
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY NIGERIA!!!!!!!!!!!
